                         The carving is of a century-old+ oak tree living near the main home on Ms. Oprah Winfrey’s 
                         Montecito Estate,  Promised Land

                         There were two Major events that affected the success of Tara II.  We had to go beyond the measure in every way
                         to make what we promised with certainty, because we had no room for a do over and a strict deadline to meet.                         
                         The sources to access more stone to remake pieces for any reason was not a option.     Why?
                         1.   The Jerusalem stone for this project was not accessible because the stone quarries were shut down
                         in the Palestine and the Holy Land.    [Israeli-Palestinian Conflict in 2002]
                         2.   Dockworker Lockout Strike on the entire West Coast during the fall
                         of 2002 made it impossible to get the product we needed off the ships at the docks into the country.

                         Miraculously, we did find 'enough' of a special shade of Jerusalem stone (from New York) that we needed
                         for the Tara II Project.   Two (2) arched mural pieces were made (as insurance) a necessary step we had to take
                         for reasons mentioned above.   
                         They were cut from the same Jerusalem stone slab and carved with the tree.  They are mirror images of each
                         other.
                         The second mural (2/2), the Artist's Study, was used as a staining guide for Oprah's mural ( Master - 1/2).  Its
                         purpose showed the depth and limit of light rendering for the master piece which cannot be altered once
                         applied.  The Artist's Study is slightly darker than the master, and is barely noticeable.

                         This mural study piece (2/2) has been in the artist’s possession since 2003
